R. F. DeMarco Nursery, Inc. began in 1963 as a hobby by Rocco F. DeMarco. Rocco worked in the construction field at the time, while his wife Sue would prepare and stick the cuttings during the day. They began with only two greenhouses behind their house in Hammonton, NJ.
Their son Ricky would help on the nursery after school. In 1967 Rick went into the service and served in Viet Nam. He received an honorary discharge in 1969. He then went to work for his uncle in the irrigation business installing irrigation systems on many golf courses on the East coast. In 1975 Rick married his wife Lorie. Rick decided to leave his uncle and join with his father to expand the nursery. Lorie started working on the nursery the following year. She worked in the greenhouses and now handles all aspects of the office.
In 1988 the nursery was incorporated. Today there are 18 propagating houses and 263 holding houses on the nursery.
As of May 30, 2004 we no longer sell rooted cuttings.
